Becoming More: The Inner Shift That Changes Everything
I woke up this morning, engaged in worship with a song from Peterson Okopi on Osuba, a refreshing worship to God. As the words filled my space, I felt a lightness settle over me. I then listened to Neville Goddard, one of my favorite spiritual teachers, and something he said struck me like never before:
> “You become what you think, feel, and say about yourself.”
I sat quietly with those words. Do I truly believe I am who I desire to be? Do I act like it, speak like it, feel like it?
Let me ask you the same questions:
Who do you believe yourself to be?
When you look in the mirror, do you see someone on the way to greatness or someone still waiting for life to “happen”?
When you pray, meditate, or set goals, are you asking from a place of lack or affirming from a place of fullness?
The truth is, you are already everything you seek. The gap between where you are and where you want to be is not out there — it is an inner shift. Life mirrors what you carry within. If you hold unworthiness, it shows up everywhere. If you hold abundance, peace, and joy, life will reflect that too.
Becoming More Starts Within
We often think we need to work harder, network more, hustle endlessly, or wait for the “right time.” But here’s what I’ve learned, both from my own life and from coaching others:
> Reality is not created by effort but by assumption.
Neville Goddard calls it “living in the end.” Assume the state of being who you desire to be right now, before the evidence shows up. This is not wishful thinking — it is spiritual alignment. When you hold the feeling of your desired state, life begins to rearrange itself to match that frequency.
> James Allen wrote in As a Man Thinketh:
“You are today where your thoughts have brought you; you will be tomorrow where your thoughts take you.”
Everything that ever was or ever shall be begins with the unseen. Change the image you hold of yourself, and everything around you must shift to match it.
Eight Timeless Voices on Becoming
Wisdom from great thinkers and teachers confirms this truth:
> Neville Goddard – “Assume the feeling of your wish fulfilled and continue feeling it until that which you feel objectifies itself.”
> James Clear – “Every action you take is a vote for the type of person you wish to become.” (Atomic Habits)
> Louise Hay – “You have the power to heal your life, and you need to know that.”
> Wayne Dyer – “You do not attract what you want. You attract what you are.”
> Florence Scovel Shinn – “The game of life is a game of boomerangs. Our thoughts, deeds and words return to us sooner or later, with astounding accuracy.”
> Deepak Chopra – “Transformation begins with awareness. You cannot change what you are not aware of.”
> Iyanla Vanzant – “The way to achieve your own success is to be willing to help somebody else get it first.”
> Joseph Murphy – “Your subconscious mind is like a garden. Whatever you plant in it will grow.”
Each one points us back to the same reality: our inner world writes the script of our outer world.
What It Really Takes to Become
Becoming more is not about forcing yourself to be someone else. It is about shedding everything that is not truly you — fear, guilt, shame, other people’s expectations — until what remains is your most authentic self.
Honesty – Face the thoughts and beliefs you have carried about yourself.
Courage – Dare to believe something new even when there is no evidence yet.
Discipline – Hold the vision of who you are becoming and refuse to waver.
Gentleness – Treat yourself kindly as you expand.
Faith – Trust the unseen and live as if your desires are already yours.
Five Becoming Affirmations
Speak these over yourself daily:
1. I am already everything I seek, and I live from that truth.
2. My thoughts, words, and feelings align with my highest self.
3. I am worthy of love, success, and joy right now, not later.
4. Life mirrors back my inner world, and I choose a reality of peace and abundance.
5. I trust the unseen and walk boldly in faith.
Five Journal Prompts to Go Deeper
Take a pen and explore these:
1. What do I believe about myself that no longer serves the person I want to be?
2. If I lived today as the person I dream of becoming, what would I do differently?
3. Where in my life am I waiting for permission to expand, and how can I give it to myself?
4. What emotions am I ready to release so I can step into my true identity?
5. What would it look like if I assumed that everything is already working in my favor?
Your Call to Action
Pause for a moment. Take inventory of what you believe about yourself. Write it down. Then rewrite those beliefs into what you choose to believe. This is where becoming begins.
And if you are ready to take this journey seriously, let’s work together. As a transformation coach, I help women and men bridge the gap between who they are and who they are becoming. Together, we will uncover the limiting beliefs, rewrite your inner story, and create a new pattern that allows you to live from a place of power and peace.
> The world is waiting for the fullest version of you. Are you ready to become?
Yours truly.
